Overview & Commitment: Ape Econ Panthiya ("the App") is developed and maintained by SynctoX to empower Sri Lankan G.C.E. Advanced Level Economics students with digital unit papers, term tests, quizzes, and learning materials. We deeply respect student privacy and collect only strictly necessary information to maintain learning profiles and exam leaderboards. We never sell, monetize, or trade student data.
1. Information We Collect
To provide personalized education tracking, the App collects the following categories of information:
- Personal Information: Student full name, mobile phone number, school, educational district, and A/L examination batch year provided during registration.
- Academic & Quiz Performance: Quiz responses, test completion timestamps, scores, and rankings used to calculate the all-island leaderboard.
- Device & Diagnostics Data: Device model, OS version, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to deliver exam notices and announcements, and anonymized crash analytics.
- Subscription & Purchase Data: In-app purchase entitlement status, subscription expiry timestamps, and tier identifiers. All financial payments and credit/debit card information are processed strictly by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. We do not receive, store, or have access to payment card numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
The collected information is used solely for the following academic and administrative purposes:
- To authenticate and maintain your active student profile.
- To generate exam reports, score histories, and all-island leaderboard rankings.
- To grant access to subscribed educational tiers (Base Utility, Marginal Plan, Macro Access).
- To send high-priority academic announcements, class schedules, and paper releases.
- To maintain system integrity, security, and prevent unauthorized exam tampering.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processors
We do not share student personal data with any third-party advertisers. We strictly rely on industry-standard, GDPR and COPPA compliant cloud infrastructure providers:
- Google Cloud Platform & Firebase: Provides secure database hosting (Cloud Firestore), user authentication, and encrypted push notifications.
- Google Play Billing & RevenueCat: Manages subscription entitlements and secure payment authorization.
4. Data Security & Encryption
All network communications between the mobile application and our servers are encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (HTTPS / TLS 1.3). Student data is stored in secured data centers with strict role-based access control.
5. Account & Data Deletion Rights
We believe in complete student data sovereignty. You have the right to request full deletion of your account and exam history at any time:
- You can delete your account from the Profile Screen inside the mobile application.
- Alternatively, you can submit a deletion request via our online portal at Account Deletion Request Page or by emailing our data protection officer.
